Volley Ball Tournament

5th Year District level Volleyball Tournament was conducted at Becchi Kavarapettai on 20th and 21st. Rev. Fr. Bellarmine Fernando SDB, the Rector headed the tournament. Shri. T. J. Govindaraj, Secretary of T.J.S. Group of institutions inaugurated the tournament. “Run, Jump and Play but do not sin,” said Don Bosco, Father and friend of Youth. 500 unorganised youth were present in Becchi campus through 32 teams. We meet them once a year. Fathers and brothers related with the young people cheerfully. It was an opportunity for the Salesians to meet and interact with so many youngsters. The Salesians were successful in meeting new faces and establishing a friendly relationship with the youngsters of this locality. On the second day A.N. Friends team Periyapalayam won sum of Rs. 10,000 as first prize and P.V.C. Perathur won Rs. 8,000 as second prize. T. N. Friends Periyapalayam and E.V.C. Friends Enampakkam won third and fourth prizes respectively. Mr. Magalingam, Sub-Inspector of Police, Kavarapettai graced the concluding programme, gave away prizes and congratulated the participants. The Volleyball court was well-lit with the newly setup floodlights. This tournament was organised by the third year brothers under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Victor Antonyraj SDB. Fr. Don Bosco Augustine SDB - the Principle, Fr. Antony Sebastian SDB – the Administrator, all the other Staff and Brothers made this event successful by their collaboration and active presence. The whole experience looked as if really Don Bosco was present with his young people at Becchi.
