In a momentous event, DBTC hosted a grand felicitation ceremony on July 24th, 2023, to extend a warm welcome to Rev. Dr. Sahayadas Fernando SDB, the newly appointed Dean of the Faculty of Theology from UPS. Fr. Emmanuel, the Principal of DBTC, extended a gracious welcome to Rev. Dr. Sahayadas Fernando. In his welcome address, Fr. Emmanuel emphasized the significance of Rev. Dr. Fernando’s presence and the valuable contributions he brings to the academic community. Rev. Dr. Sahayadas Fernando addressed both the faculty members and students in his speech, providing insights into the difference between aggregated and affiliated institutions. He emphasized that DBTC falls under the category of an affiliated institute, which ensures the presence of qualified professors, guaranteed infrastructure, and a well-structured syllabus. This affiliation status assures the students of a supportive learning environment. At the same time, Rev. Dr. Fernando emphasized the importance of utilizing the institute’s resources to the fullest and encouraged all to excel in their academic pursuits.
