The fourth and concluding theological reflection on “Fundamental Human Rights of Indians: A Historical, Theological, and Constitutional View” proved to be an insightful exploration into the intersection of theology, history, and constitutional law. Sister Sophiya Francis SMMI, was the chief guest whose expertise and wisdom enriched the discussions. Brother George delivered a thought-provoking presentation on “The Biblical and Theological Perspective of Human Rights.” He emphasized the sacredness of human life and the moral imperative for upholding and protecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of all individuals. Brother Jojo provided a comprehensive overview of the “Background of the Indian Constitution and Laws.” Delving into the historical context and constitutional framework of India, he highlighted the evolution of Indian laws pertaining to human rights and the progressive strides made in safeguarding the rights and liberties of Indian citizens. Sister Sophiya Francis SMMI, as the resource person and guest of honour, provided invaluable guidance and perspective, weaving together theological, historical, and constitutional insights to deepen understanding and foster dialogue. Throughout the session, the participants engaged in lively discussions and reflections, grappling with the complexities of human rights discourse in the Indian context.
