Don Bosco Theological Centre, Kavarapettai witnessed an extraordinary visit from esteemed dignitaries, Fr. Andrea Bozzolo SDB, the Rector Magnificus, Fr. Biju Michael SDB, the Regional Councilor for the Salesian Region of South Asia, and Fr. Jarek SDB, the General Secretary of UPS, marking a significant event in the institution’s history. The visit took place from 4th to 5th August, 2023.
The visit commenced on 4th August at 3.00 p.m. with a warm welcome ceremony. At 6:00 PM, Fr. Andrea Bozzolo delivered an inspiring address to the students, delving into the theological significance of Don Bosco's dream at the tender age of 9. His insightful discourse left a profound impact on the students, shedding light on the theological foundations of the Salesian mission. Following the address, there was a valuable opportunity for students to engage in interactive sessions with the extraordinary visitors. This allowed for the exchange of ideas and experiences, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
The second day of the visit commenced with a spiritually uplifting Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Andrea Bozzolo. The sacred ceremony brought together the Salesian community in prayer and reflection, reinforcing their commitment to their mission. After the Eucharist, in the forenoon, Fr. Bozzolo took time to meet the professors and formators personally and then as a council, providing valuable guidance and encouragement. These interactions served to strengthen the bond between the Salesian Pontifical University and DBTC, Kavarapettai.
The extraordinary visit culminated with a concluding ceremony at noon. This event was marked by expressions of gratitude and appreciation from the Don Bosco Becchi community for the distinguished guests.
